15 September – 11 November 2018
Exhibition, Public Events
Opening: 14 September 2018, 19h
The project discusses touch(ing) as a paradigmatic gesture of contemporary society – in a discursive and process-oriented way. Through touch screen technology touch has become more important in communication and computer interface design. At the same time a boom around body and alternative healing practices working with touch takes place. The influence of tactile interfaces of technical instruments and their access to the human body as well as the role touch plays in social interaction and communication and processes of inscription in the body are therefore also increasingly dealt with in contemporary art. The exhibition project and accompanying program of events gathers contemporary artistic positions that investigate various questions in connection to the notion of touch.
