The panel extends the exhibition’s exploration of politically critical artistic attitudes, setting the focus on leftist criticism directed at the state socialist regimes. Examples are brought from the East German, Hungarian, Polish, and Yugoslav scenes.

Anna Artwinska is Professor at the Slavic Department at the Leipzig University. Her fields of research include socialist realism, the afterlife of the Shoah, memory of communism in Slavic cultures, concepts of genealogy and generation and life writing.
Constanze Fritzsch is a scientific trainee at the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden.
Bojana Matejic is a contemporary art theorist and visual artist. She is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade. Her main research interests include contemporary Marxist and psychoanalytic theories of art, labour theory, and American contemporary theory of art.
Judit Bodor is an independent curator who has curated a number of exhibitions, residencies, site-specific installations and performance events. Her recent practice-led PhD (Aberystwyth University) focused on curating the archives of historical performance art in the Museum evidenced through the process of producing the exhibition 'Silent Explosion: Ivor Davies and Destruction in Art' in 2015-2016 at National Museum Cardiff.
Beáta Hock (GWZO Leipzig) is a cultural historian; her areas of research and teaching include feminist cultural theory and the cultural dimensions of the global Cold War.
