TIES, TALES, AND TRACES. Dedicated to Frank Wagner, Independent Curator (1958–2016)

Memorial exhibition at KW Institute for Contemporary Art

The exhibition commemorates the work of the, sadly, deceased curator and long-term nGbK member Frank Wagner. He made his mark with groundbreaking and internationally acclaimed exhibitions on critical art, AIDS, and gender and LGBTQI* issues. With sensitive radicalism he pursued political questions around social relations, violence, racism, colonialism, fascism, homophobia, and marginalized sexualities.
The memorial exhibition draws on art works and documents from Wagner’s estate and pays tribute to the broader sociopolitical impact of his curatorial career.

An exhibition by KW Institute for Contemporary Art, curated by RealismusStudio of nGbK in cooperation with Between Bridges.

nGbK project group RealismusStudio: Christin Lahr, Isabelle Meiffert, Ulrike Riebel, Vincent Schier, Susanne Weiß

The complementary exhibition at the project space Between Bridges (1 February – 16 March 2019) will be curated by Wolfgang Tillmans and Eugen Ivan Bergmann.
