Round table »Loners and seekers of community«

The reception of fine art differs fundamentally from that of the performing arts: the art space is open, the theatre space is closed. Whereas in the former each individual decides how long to look at an artwork, the latter limits time to offer a shared ritual. Or is it the other way round?

With Ekaterina Degot (artistic director, Steirischer Herbst) and Johannes Paul Raether (artist), Frankfurter Hauptschule will discuss the questions: How can the audiences for fine art and theatre be described? And how can sociological conclusions be drawn from formal habits of reception?

In these four discussion events, a text provided in advance will be explored and further developed. The results will serve as a point of departure for the performance »Dienst an der Front ohne Waffe mit Vollstreckung des Todesurteils nach dem Endsieg/MOTOR« that will premiere on 21 & 22 May 2020.
