Women artists from Mexico

This catalogue was published to accompany the exhibition of the same name at Künstlerhaus Bethanien realized in 1981 in cooperation with the Foro de Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City. The aim was to present women artists from Mexico in Berlin and other European cities, fostering international exchanges between women concerning their specific social situation, their living and working conditions. The exhibition focused mainly on prints, mixed media, drawings, and photographs, while the catalogue presented each artist on a double spread with a brief biography, a portrait, and one work. The artists included Yosi Anaya, Victoria Blasco, Leonora Carrington, and Marta Palau. The book also provides information on Mexican cinema and offers insights into literature and feminism.
