MOVING ON
Border Activism – Strategies for Anti-racist Actions
Europe is changing. The borders on political maps are becoming less important in some places and more impenetrable in others. An nGbK work group asked: “And what about the borders in people’s heads?” The project MOV!NG ON “deals with the impact of European migration policy and shows strategies of crossing, shifting, visualizing, abolishing, or disregarding borders.” The catalog for the exhibition of the same name presents approaches taken by individuals, groups, and associations, both artistic and political. Alongside a number of black-and-white illustrations, it contains many essays on subjects including “Alliance-Building,” “No One Is Illegal,” and “Freedom of Movement is Everybody’s Right,” by authors including Silke Wagner, Hito Steyerl, Kanak Attak, Candice Breitz, Abdoul Rafiou Yacoubou, Brandenburg Refugee Initiative, and the Association for Legalisation.
