This catalog produced by the nGbK in cooperation with Kunsthaus Dresden to accompany the exhibition of the same name deals with the phenomenon of conspiracy theories. In the years after 9/11, the increased circulation of suspicions, accusations, and fictions raised many questions for the work group: How do individuals relate to a global super-event and its consequences? Beyond a desire for conspiracy scenarios fed by pop culture and/or pathologies, is there a less resigned option for rendering productive the feelings of powerlessness that accompany the loss of a solid set of political coordinates? Featuring artists including Mark Lombardi, Öyvind Fahlström, Alice Creischer, and Henrik Olesen, the catalog seeks answers to these questions with the help of historical and current image materials, interviews, essays, quotations, letters, and newspaper collages.
