Photo film evening with Peter Badel (Eichwalde) and Klaus Ihlau (Berlin)

One of the surprises of the Weimar exhibition premiere On fleeting existence and uncertain happiness. The late GDR era in photography was a small selection of photographic films. Among them was the work “Sittlichkeit ist Wahrheit” (Morality is Truth), created by Peter Badel together with Klaus Ihlau in 1987, which is based on the historical format of the sound-image show in Badel’s performance practice .

Peter Badel is the cinematographer of numerous films of various genres. He has worked closely with Thomas Heise, Hans Wintgen and Peter Kahane. Until 2019, he held the professorship Cinematographer for Digital Media at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf.

Klaus Ihlau is the author of numerous radio plays and features that he produced for GDR radio. He was also involved in the GDR peace movement of the 1980s.
