We will be talking to Croatian artist Vlado Martek about his temporary artistic intervention “Befähigt zum Idealismus. Der größte Sieg ist der Sieg der Kunst“, which he will be carrying out at the Denkzeichen am Murellenberg in Charlottenburg in Berlin. The discussion will be moderated by art historian and curator Dr. Helen Adkins.

The artistic interventions in Berlin and Zagreb are part of the Menschenwald project by the Goethe-Institut Croatia and the Virtual Museum Dotrščina. The aim is to connect the Dotrščina Memorial Park, Zagreb’s most important memorial to the victims of fascist terror during the Second World War, with memorials of a similar character and status in other European capitals through artistic and cultural exchange.

The event is a cooperation between the nGbK and the project Menschenwald, which is organized in collaboration with the Virtual Museum Dotrščina, the Goethe-Institut Croatia, the Council of the Serbian National Minority of the City of Zagreb.
