11 Theses Towards a Manifesto of Urban Practice

Year: 2021 Type: Leaflet, Poster Languages: German, English Price: 0.00 € Format: 10,2 x 21 cm (closed), 60,3 x 42 cm (open)

The 11 Theses Towards a Manifesto of Urban Praxis complement the multi-voiced Glossary Urban Praxis and form the provisional conclusion of the workshop conferences of the Initiative Urbane Praxis, which, publicly funded 2020 – 2021, networked locations and actors of Urban Praxis throughout Berlin. The SITUATION BERLIN project group of the neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst/nGbK organised and curated a two-part workshop conference on „Situation Berlin“ on the initiative of Urbane Praxis and in continuation of the Urban Cultures event (nGbK/Berlinische Galerie 2019).

At the suggestion of the Council for the Arts, the Initiative Urbane Praxis was founded in 2020 with Berlin-wide project partners who develop new structural proposals for these challenges at the interface of civil society actors, administration and politics. An important point of reference is the initiative Haben und Brauchen (Having and Needing) with a manifesto and two open letters (2011 – 13), from which, among other things, the Citytax-based new funding model or the broad rent policy movement grew.
