Mari Szürke from Budapest and her friend Marie Grau from the GDR travel directly from 1989 to nGbK 2025 in their Gorenje time machine. A joyful reunion between friends, who can finally get into the art world of the future.They bring along other time travelers from Infermental and Van Gogh TV to see what has changed since the old times.
Gusztáv Hámos emigrated from Hungary to West Berlin in 1979, where he played a key role in shaping the Berlin video art scene. In 1981, he co-produced the first issue of Infermental. With his video essay „1989. The Revolution on Television,“ he realized that the first video periodical had intermedially documented the last decade of the Cold War.
Benjamin Heidersberger (*1957 in Braunschweig) is a media artist, publicist, entrepreneur, and cultural manager. At Van Gogh TV, he was responsible for concept, technology, and interaction models as part of a larger collective. Today, he manages the legacy of his father, the photographer Heinrich Heidersberger, and is working on the algorithmic piano composition Pentatonic Permutations.
Mike Hentz (*1954 in New Jersey) is a polymedia artist and American European. In 1988, Hentz produced an issue of the video art magazine Infermental. With Van Gogh TV, he realized the project „Piazza Virtuale“ in the 1990s and numerous interactive television events via cable or satellite with „Universcity TV.“
Pneuma Szöv. is a Budapest/Berlin based art network collective exploring since 2008 the field in-between playing, living, politicizing, socializing, failing and learning. From 2019 to 2021, they dedicated themselves to exploring tele-theater visions between performance and television in their project TV Free Europe.
