Between Institutions, Independent Scene and Communities: Conjugating Spaces for Interdisciplinary Experimentation, Dignity, and Format Innovation
With: Carlos Maria Romero (they / them) aka Atabey | Haus der Kulturen der Welt
Through their work at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, as well as in their roles as an artist and curator focusing on performance, movement, community, and educational projects, Atabey, formerly know as Carlos Maria Romero, has gained diverse experience at the intersection of institutions, the independent arts scene, and historically marginalized communities. Atabey’s contribution explores the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration and social practices: How can new spaces be opened up for audiences through hospitality, joy, intergenerational transmission, and empowerment—beyond established expectations and barriers?
