BR/DE 2016
72 min.
Brazilian Portuguese/German/English/Japanese with English subtitles
Melissa’s and Gustavo’s adventure begins aboard a container ship in the Atlantic Ocean. The ship takes them from Brazil to Berlin, a city in constant motion, where the old is constantly being replaced by the new. The couple finds a home there and transforms it into the center of their personal universe.
As time passes, the boundary between life and cinema becomes blurred. The couple’s flat evolves into a stage where friends are invited to play their own roles, and reality and fiction merge. Until one day, a cosmic portal opens there, connecting the past, present and future.
Melissa Dullius and Gustavo Jahn, active since 2006 as the artist duo ‘Distruktur’, draw on autobiographical and fantastical elements. They weave their experiences in Berlin into a colorful tapestry of memories, encounters and dreams. The duo conceives filmmaking as a personal as well as collective endeavor and themselves as wanderers on a journey through space and time.
